Since Sheriff Walton assumed office in 2009

the Warrants/Transports Division has taken many steps to grow and become more efficient with additions such as computer programs and a reporting system to track warrants and evaluate the officers’ and staff’s performance individually. The result is a division which manages a warrant database of over 10,000 active warrants and served 2696 warrants in 2019.
The Warrants/Transports Division coordinates placing holds on offenders in and out of state as well as transports the inmates to the detention facility. The Transport Division averages 10-15 transports a week with some as far as Alaska. The Transport Division also transports inmates sentenced to DOC from the detention facility to DOC’s intake facility.
