RCSO Citizens Academy
The RCSO Citizens Academy is a robust 12-day community training program that provides citizens with a background and deeper understanding of Rogers County Sheriff’s Office operations, training, challenges and an inside look at the Rogers County criminal justice system.
The program replicates and condenses the RCSO recruit training regimen, allowing Rogers County citizens to gain a deeper understanding of skills and abilities that deputy sheriff’s bring to their work in the community.
RCSO CA sessions include:
- Interdisciplinary workshops led by agency instructors in fields like firearms, drone operations, defensive tactics and more.
- Education on hot button issues in the state such as mental health in jails, the McGirt ruling and the opioid epidemic.
- Discussions with Sheriff’s Office Divisional Command Staff and Sheriff’s Specialized Units like K9, Interdiction, Major Crimes and Mounted Patrol to name a few.
- Role-playing events and tactical exercises
- Tours of the Rogers County Jail, Rogers County Courthouse, Rogers County E911 Center and Rogers County Sheriff’s Office.
- All participants will be trained in active shooter civilian response, RUN. HIDE. FIGHT
